Analyst, Institutional Client Credit Management (Portfolio Management & Analytics)


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted October 7, 2020.

What is the opportunity?

RBC’s Institutional Client Credit Management Team is looking for an Analyst to play a key role in credit/ratings management and analysis of the RBC Investor & Treasury Services and Capital Markets trading businesses. 

What will you do?

  • Preparation of counterparty risk analysis and proposed internal ratings.
  • Interact with the business and risk management on excesses and risk submissions.
  • Update accurate and timely counterparty NAVs.
  • Undertake annual reviews and ensure their completion on a timely basis in compliance with deadlines.
  • Understand and assess risks inherent in (i) the asset management industry and its regulation, (ii) the sponsors and the markets they operate in, (iii) products and (iv) investment strategies
  • Other primary responsibilities that may arise from time to time in support of risk assessment and continuous monitoring.
  • Prepare ad hoc and regular reporting.


What do you need to succeed?


  • A completed Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
  • At least 1 year of experience working within the Financial Services.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills- must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks in order to meet demanding fast-paced needs of the trading business.
  • Ability to learn RBC proprietary programs and applications.



  • CFA Designation.
  • Understanding and knowledge of fund industry and securities regulations governing funds.
  • Ratings experience.
