The Manager, Investment Enhancement Group (IEG) works in partnership with the other members of the Investment Enhancement Group (IEG) in order to help support a portfolio of under-performing accounts with the goal of restructuring the investments to minimize loan losses, maximize shareholder value and to achieve superior returns on capital.  The Manager, IEG, is responsible for actioning the recommended turnaround plan(s) as determined by senior management, which include managing their implementation and reviewing and analyzing their progress, ensuring they adhere to established Roynat policies and procedures, as well as internal and external compliance guidelines.

 

What you’ll do in this role?

  • Provide high quality support and assistance to the Managing Director and Senior Manager by preparing succinct reviews of all new clients transferred to the IEG in order to provide a timeline of Roynat’s actions to date and to determine/establish requirements going forward
  • Implement turnaround strategies, ideas and solutions as determined by senior management in order to minimize risk and maximize recovery on problem accounts
  • Monitor assigned client accounts performance to ensure conformity to terms and conditions
  • Review legal documentation to ensure terms and conditions of loans are properly reflected
  • Handle all aspects of client account administration including assistance in reviewing, analyzing and preparing communications, investment reviews, amendments, SCC memos, investment summaries, disbursements and cash flow/CAPEX/expense reconciliation
  • Follow up and monitor all overdue financial statements, late payments and overdue and outstanding items for assigned client portfolio
  • Independently complete comprehensive investment summaries for assigned client portfolio and syndicate investments, including term sheets and all other ancillary documentation
  • Maintain excellent business relationships with clients, as well as external contacts such as third-party consultants, lawyers and vendors when required
  • Assess the industry, management, operational and financial issues that affect assigned client portfolio and recommending a viable turnaround solution(s) that minimizes risk and maximizes recovery
  • Provide thorough and accurate reporting to the Investment Enhancement Group (IEG) by preparing investment reviews according to the frequency determined in the summary or amendment (ie. Annually, quarterly) to be adjudicated by senior management
  • Prepare risk management reports including valuations, capital gains forecasting and profitability modeling for assigned portfolio
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Roynat’s products and services, while continually ensuring professional skills and knowledge are current
  • Contribute to the group’s teamwork, creativity and achievement of goals while maintaining open lines of communication

 

What we’re looking for?

  • University degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related
  • Professional financial designation such as CPA, CFA, or an MBA would be considered an asset
  • Work experience in the financial services or commercial banking industry, with demonstrated knowledge of financial accounting concepts
  • Work experience in a client focused role
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge and understanding of legal documents, ramifications/remedies, processes and procedures
  • Ability to lead sensitive conversations, while having strong decision making skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team
  • General computer knowledge to effectively use various computer software applications, specifically Excel and Word
  • Bilingual in English/French would be considered an asset, not required
