Senior Manager, Funding Transfer Pricing and Expense Allocation

Position Responsibilities

Funds Transfer Pricing

•    FTP Development:  Contribute to ongoing development of FTP methodologies for all Company assets such as uninsured and insured assets for Residential, Commercial and Visa products, as well as liabilities such as core Broker and Oaken deposit products (e.g. GIC’s), securitized funding vehicles (e.g. RMBS) and other funding vehicles that arise. 
•    RAROC Development:  Work with other members of Finance, Capital & Strategy team, as well as other internal stakeholders to develop RAROC model and include results in ongoing monthly BU Performance Management reporting. 
•    FTP & RAROC documentation:  Leveraging documentation prepared to-date, develop and maintain documentation for Corporate policy(s), Process/Procedure Statement of Practice (SOP’s). 
•    Compliance:  Ensure ERM compliance for model development and model vetting.
•    Reporting:  Using asset and liability cost curves supplied by Treasury, produce ongoing reporting & analysis of plan/forecast vs actual Cost of Funds results as part of the product segment reporting included in the BU Finance monthly BU performance reporting


Expense Allocation:

•    Maintain current Excel Model:  Own / maintain the current Excel model that provides unit cost information by business function, as well as product cost allocations (full cost allocation model) used in product segment Income Statement reporting.  Product expenses would include actual and plan costs to originate, costs to service and Corporate
•    Overhead costs.  Work with key stakeholders in BU’s and Corporate functions to update model assumptions (e.g. cost driver assumptions) on timely basis. 
•    Transition to new Model:  Support the transition of the Excel model to a more robust Expense Allocation tool. 
•    Ongoing reporting & analysis:  Provide monthly reporting on actual vs plan/forecast product expense results, including variance analysis.  Also provide ongoing commentary on Unit Cost trends. 

Formal Education

  • Post secondary degree or diploma preferred
  • Certification(s)/Designation(s) preferred in related area

Related Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role in Financial Services in Finance / Treasury, Risk, Money Markets or Capital markets
