Senior Manager, Newcomer & Culture Client Segment

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted January 4, 2021.

What is the opportunity?

The goal of the Newcomer & Cultural Client Segment Strategy team is to develop and implement innovative growth strategies across all Canadian Banking products that focus on ‘New-to-Canada” clients.  As a Senior Manager, you will collaboratively works with multiple stakeholders across all aspects of the value chain (e.g.  Products, Risk, Portfolio Management, Sales, Technology and Operations) to identify and action incremental growth opportunities. 

Additionally, you will support strategy development to identify and quantify new client growth segments, optimize existing client portfolios and simplify opportunities to drive bottom line growth, through collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

What will you do?

  • Explore, assess and prioritize new client-centric opportunities and initiatives across Canadian Banking products with a keen focus on driving market share and earnings growth
  • Drive enhancements to Newcomer policy, processes and offers by influencing key stakeholders (LOB partners) through opportunity presentment and business casing.  In addition, act as Newcomer SME in cross-functional team when applicable
  • Initiate and deliver on identified opportunities by leading implementation through partnership with Strategic Planning and Communications, Business Development, Products, Sales Strategy, Portfolio Management, Group Risk Management and Operations teams
  • Lead design and requirements of analysis to drive critical evaluation of strategic opportunities. Data-driven pre & post-arrival tactics prioritized to focus on identifying and solving key client paint points
  • Act as expert in all Newcomer key performance metrics including: drivers of volume and profitability.  Provide product and sub-segment level insight of key financial drivers
  • Lead the continued development, evolution and implementation of  “New to Canada” pre-arrival initiatives in Asia as these initiatives relate to on-boarding Canadian Banking clients
  • Collaborate closely with Canadian Banking office in Beijing, China to achieve common goals/objectives.  Accountable for representing Beijing initiatives in Canada with Canadian partners
  • Derive insights and portfolio trending from regular client segments reporting related to client, product, profitability and risk performance

Must-have

  • Proven ability to think strategically and critically
  • Excellent analytical skills to leverage data insights to inform business decisions
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to develop business cases
  • Proven ability to seek out and distill multiple pools of data and information
  • Strong communicator; ability to facilitate working sessions, develop clear and effective decks
  • Data Analysis and business presentation proficiency
     

Nice-to-have

  • MBA
  • Experience with Product Management, risk management, and strategy development
  • Experience in Risk Management
  • Background in Analytics and Finance
