Senior Manager – Transaction Services

Your opportunity

Our Toronto office is looking for a Senior Manager, Transaction Services to join our Financial Advisory Services team and own the following responsibilities:

 

  • Lead financial due diligence engagements and provide M&A transaction support to our clients including private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers
  • Analyze financial/operational results of targets including  historical trading, quality of earnings, cash flow, working capital, net debt, capital expenditure, forecasts and underlying assumptions
  • Lead financial discussions with target companies, their management and advisors
  • Report potential key issues for our clients including identification of risk or price factors impacting investment or divestiture decisions
  • Review sale and purchase agreements and financial model to reflect findings of the due diligence process
  • Prepare/evaluate pro forma financial information; identify issues for purchase price reductions, deal structuring or deal termination
  • Identify post-acquisition action steps to achieve anticipated earnings/cash flow improvements and evaluate effects of seasonality on cash flow requirements; perform industry and company research
  • Generate new business opportunities within the Transaction Support practice and BDO in general, developing long-term relationships and networks
  • Be entrepreneurial in nature to drive growth and practice management in our growing team
  • Develop and train junior level project team members and group staff

  • You understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group’s advancement.
  • You ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.
  • You contribute to the development of the group infrastructure
  • You give timely, relevant and actionable feedback to the team.
  • You recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements.
  • You actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent.
  • You support our firm’s revenue growth by referring clients to other services lines and new clients to BDO.

 

Your experience and education

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting and/or related major with a CA or CPA certification. CFA or CBV is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of public accounting experience, with minimum 5 years of financial due diligence experience
  • Financial statement interpretation and analysis, including an understanding of the application of and compliance with GAAP
  • Corporate Development, financial modelling and analytics experience a big asset
  • Professional report writing and presentation skills Motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous, rigorous and able to work under pressure
  • Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas.
  • The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel, when necessary.
  • Motivated to be market facing and driving relationships that lead to future work.
