The Projects and Reporting Team provides oversight that will drive standards, consistency and best practices to ensure all business areas impacted are compliant and implementation of new initiatives are successful. The team is also responsible for analysis and delivery of data insights, dashboards and performance metrics, including the quarterly Pension Services Report, and will serve as a data gateway to ensure proper due diligence and security protocols are undertaken in the production of pension data and its transmittal within and outside of OMERS.

Reporting to the Manager, Projects and Reporting, the Pension Analyst will be responsible for performing research and analysis, assisting with the development of pension solutions, completing project work and developing a broad range of reports. The Pension Analyst will work collaboratively across several lines of business within OMERS to ensure that appropriate support is provided for various pension initiatives and will assist with implementation. The successful candidate will interact with internal and external stakeholders and will uphold and demonstrate the OMERS vision and core mission at all times.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

• Completing project work on Pension Services projects and special initiatives (e.g. expanding OMERS pension data capabilities) and ensuring they are completed efficiently and on time
• Performing research and analysis on a broad range of pension data and issues, developing thoughtful and effective recommendations and providing detailed documentation
• Assisting in the development of strategies and tools to deliver on the mandate and objectives of the Projects and Reporting team
• Ensuring annual tasks for Pension Services are completed appropriately and within established timeframes
• Collaborating with all relevant expertise within OMERS to ensure that various pension and strategic decisions are appropriately considered and supported
• Supporting other initiatives within Pension Operations, as required

To succeed in this role, you have:

• Enrolled in a relevant University program
• Conceptual thinker with strong analytical skills, including the ability to research and analyze complex issues and develop insightful solutions while considering risks, costs to the plan and stakeholders’ views
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to ensure tasks are completed on a timely basis
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including preparation of presentation decks
• Pension or relevant experience (e.g., actuarial, pension administration, policy) is an asset
