Training Coordinator (FT)

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted October 19, 2020.

Job Summary

We are looking for top talent to join our team. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Training Coordinator is responsible for maintaining high standards in product knowledge, orientation, systems, customer service, policy/procedure and management training as identified by store and focus group needs and to help fill vacancies in a timely, effective manner to achieve our mission statement: To be a retailer with Passion, Knowledge, Integrity committed to a relentless desire to improve our performance in creating the highest quality experience for all customers and staff.

Essential Functions

• Maintains levels of instruction in keeping with Company training direction
• Participates with the store team in achieving all aspects of customerservice, store readiness, store cleanliness, control of assets, healthand safety practices and compliance with Sporting Life policies andprocedures
• Actively participates on sales floor in sales, customer service, cash, managing and coaching
• Conducts one on one sales and customer service coaching
• Sources, coordinates, schedules and follows up on all in-house Product Knowledge training sessions
• Conducts classroom instruction in all designated courses
• Organizes and implements contests in partnership with the applicable Divisional Manager
• Conducts training focus groups to evaluate current programs and plan for upcoming initiatives
• Analyses skill levels internally and implements refresher training and coaching as required
• Maintains up to date knowledge, communicates and ensures adherence to all current Human Resources practices and policies
• Assists with screening of applicants, conducting employment interviewsand reference checking in accordance with Employment Standards and inkeeping with Human Rights
• Develops store communication tools, employee manuals, etc.
• Special projects as required
