The Canadian Tire Build Engineering team is looking for a skilled lead who is excited to build robust continuous delivery pipelines and tools, enabling teams to deliver exciting digital experiences for the Canadian Tire Corporation, its partners, and its customers.

What you’ll do

Our Build Engineer Manager will join the Build Engineering team and be a key member in helping architect and scale our continuous integration process, applying industry leading techniques. This individual has an advanced understanding of software development and its lifecycle. This individual is expected to:

  • Design and implement modern solutions in Build Engineering optimizing for efficiency, productivity and developer happiness
  • Provide technical leadership during engagements with Technology, Security and Product teams
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers and other stakeholders
  • Influence the evolution of Digital Build Engineering processes and technologies, operational activities, and the culture of the team
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members
  • Provide technical hands-on expertise with existing and new tools
  • Develop and integrate Continuous Integration/Continuous Development related tools, supporting various software development requirements (Web, Mobile Apps etc.)
  • Seek opportunities to optimize and automate build processes
  • Provide architectural guidance on scaling and evolving current systems
  • Be innovative and actively explore new tools to develop Proof-of-Concept solutions
  • Maintain and evolve existing CI/CD pipelines with scalability in mind
  • Dig deep to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, growing and dynamic environment

What you bring

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience building advanced and scalable CI/CD systems
  • Advanced knowledge with building configuration pipelines and multiple pipeline setup
  • Proficiency with Jenkins and Artifactory and/or GitHub Actions
  • Proficiency with git, GitHub, familiarity with Bitbucket
  • Proficiency using Docker containers, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Proficiency with writing automation
  • Familiarity with Json and Yaml data structures, REST APIs, Terraform, Ansible
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture concepts and microservices
  • Experience developing processes for ongoing integration of third-party tools and libraries
  • Ability to plan, document and communicate CI/CD process and design
  • Ability to work with internal teams to understand requirements and provide scalable
