Cloud Security Compliance Engineer

The Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) group is looking for a Cloud Security Compliance Engineer to be part of our Cloud Security team in implementing our cloud continuous monitoring solution. This solution will be used measure and enforce Thomson Reuters’ security policies and detect threats across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This candidate will work across our Cloud Center of Excellence, Security Engineering, Security Architecture, Incident Response, and Governance Risk and Compliance functions in the maturation of our program.

About the Role

As a Cloud Security Compliance Engineer, you will:

  • Serve as the Security Lead in the design, implementation and integration phases of business products and services to meet business security requirements; address corporate risks and exposures in cloud-based, endpoint and network technologies by clearly understanding business goals.
  • Design and implement automated remediation processes to drive down violations of policies in our estate
  • Able to expand the application team enablement program to all TR application teams by expanding our reporting capabilities and app team engagement rhythms
  • Ensure the successful rollout of prevention guardrails by engaging with application teams to assist in remediating existing violations
  • Act as the entry point for the team to handle initial app team inquiries regarding our policies and technologies
  • Partner with CI/CD teams to embed IaC scanning capabilities into their pipelines
  • Translate security policy into cloud resource requirements
  • Should be able to engage and convince various business units and should have ability to brief senior leadership on the progress of these efforts
  • Excellent presentation skills to help understand Executives

About You

  • 2+ years’ hands on experience in AWS and/or Azure such as but not limited to:
    • Understands how to configure and maintain cloud resources such as Security Groups, NACLs, ALBs, WAFs, DNS, etc…
    • Experience or should be able to write Infrastructure as Code
    • Understanding account level and/or resource level security best practices aligned to industry best practices such as CIS
    • Good interpersonal communication skills are vital
    • Ability to quickly pick up new technologies as projects require
    • Past experience working with Business teams
    • Past experience working with information security teams and technologies

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Cloud platform-based certification(AWS/Azure) or certification like CCSP 
    • Understanding and past knowledge security technologies like Cloud trail, Guard Duty, Qualys and products like Prisma is a plus.
    • Experience with security related regulatory requirements such as NIST, CIS, PCI, etc
    • Having security certifications like CISSP or CISM or CISA is not mandatory but a plus
