The Canadian Tire Mobile Development team is looking for a skilled iOS Lead Developer who is eager to build best-in-class and exciting digital experiences for the Canadian Tire Corporation, its partners, and its customers.

What you’ll do

Our Lead iOS developer will join the mobile team and be a key member in contributing evolve our suite of apps by adopting the latest technologies and capabilities. This individual has a solid understanding of iOS technologies and development toolset. This individual is expected to:

  • Write code using best practices that aligns with the overall architecture, is reusable and responsive in order to produce high quality app features
  • Work closely with fellow developers, product owners and designers
  • Provide technology leadership and guidance on feature architecture and design
  • Discover opportunities to improve code through research, testing, refactoring and benchmarking
  • Troubleshoot advanced and challenging bugs
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, openly communicate using various tools and leverage delivery tools to share updates and documentation (Jira, Confluence etc)
  • Work in a fast-paced, growing and dynamic environment

What you bring

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience building complex iOS apps using Swift, Objective-C, Storyboards
  • Experience writing Unit/UI tests (SwiftUI is a nice to have)
  • Advanced knowledge of native components, SDKs and APIs available in iOS
  • Familiarity with integrating third-party libraries and frameworks
  • Advanced knowledge of Core Data, Core Animation, Networking, Push Notifications and building first-party frameworks (Swift Package Manager is a nice to have)
  • Understanding of various architectural patterns (MVVM, MVC) and iOS App lifecycle
  • Proficiency with the latest Xcode version and it’s toolset (simulators, performance instrumentation etc.) along with git and other code control tools
  • Familiarity with continuous development practices and tools such as Jenkins
  • Familiarity with JSON data structures and REST APIs
  • Familiarity of Accessibility features and related APIs
  • Strong estimation skills and ability to maintain technical documentation
  • General understanding of secure coding in iOS, mobile payments, and analytics
