Regulated Health Professional – Vaccination Clinic

Pay: At rate relative to the discipline and years of clinical experience

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at the Vaccination Clinics, located at St. Michael’s Hospital and at St. Joseph’s Health Centre.  Come on board to help protect and educate the team and health system partners of Unity Health Toronto. This opportunity is open to all Regulated Health Professionals with competencies to administer vaccines under a medical directive and who demonstrate compassion and excellence in their work.

Full Time opportunities are available at both St. Michael’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health Centre. 

Key responsibilities:

• Support large-scale immunization program in response to Covid -19 Pandemic.
• Safely administer vaccine according to standardized protocol.
• Records details of the vaccine dose and lot number within an electronic system.
• Responds to patient queries and concerns in a professional, respectful and courteous way.
• Provides education related to after care for immunizations.
• Works with the site supervisor to maximize the efficiency of the immunization areas.
• Identifies and responds to adverse reactions and events.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Training and relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
• PPE must be worn at all times.
• Some work in the community may be required

Qualifications:

• Must be a Regulated Health Professional and licensed in good standing to practice in Ontario with a Regulatory College (e.g., College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario, College of Nurses of Ontario, Ontario College of Pharmacists etc.)  
• BCLS certification required
• IM injection experience required
• Effective verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Collaborative and works well within a team environment
• Effective at problem solving
• Effective subjective and physical assessment skills to monitor for adverse reaction; seeks assistance and escalates as per protocol

In this position you will may be required to work either 8hour or 12 hour shifts, as required.  Shifts are subject to change, as per the needs of the department.
