Overview of the opportunity:

Our Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Services (IARCS) professionals provide a range of assurance and advisory services to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal audit functions, enterprise risk management programs, third-party relationships, regulatory compliance, governance and sustainability initiatives. We analyze and assess an organization’s business strategies and related business processes and systems to help management understand and address business objectives, requirements, risks, controls, and improvement opportunities. Our professionals bring both deep technical and industry experience, allowing clients to strengthen their key governance, risk management and compliance efforts while optimizing business performance.

We are looking for a dynamic professional to join our growing IARCS practice, with a specific focus on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). The successful candidate will be responsible in supporting the planning, execution, and reporting for IARCS/ERM engagements, working both as part of larger engagement teams and individually with guidance and review from more senior professionals.

What you will do

  • Assist organizations in designing and implementing risk management frameworks from strategic to operational levels including risk strategy, appetite, governance, policies, culture and technology systems.
  • Facilitate enterprise and operational risk assessments and advise on suitable strategies to manage risks
  • Assist organizations with the delivery of specialized internal audit, internal control/SOX 404, performance assessment, and regulatory compliance projects.
  • Participate in the delivery of risk management engagement presentations and deliverables to clients
  • Produce analyses, reports or presentations that outline findings and recommendations
  • Apply knowledge of best practices from past engagements and leading practice studies such as OSFI guidelines
  • Provide support in practice development to assess and build new risk management methodologies and product offerings
  • Support Managers in managing project timeline, quality, budget as well as client relationship
  • Deliver multiple simultaneous client engagements of varying size, scope and complexity
  • Engage with cross functional engagement teams comprised of diverse backgrounds and skill sets
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to continuously improve project and solutions delivery
  • Assist with business development efforts of proposals, marketing material, internal and external presentations
  • Delivering high quality work that is on time and in compliance with the Firm’s quality standards
  • Mentor, drive and review quality of work prepared by team members

 

What you bring to the role

  • Possess a strong educational background with emphasis on risk management, finance or economics
  • Risk management, assurance or accounting designation (such as CRMA, PRM, CA) would be an asset
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an enterprise and operational risk management role
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management and good industry practices (e.g. OSFI, ISO 31000, COSO)
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills (oral and written) in English, with the ability to interact confidently with all levels of management
  • Possess strong project management, analytical and technical skills and ability to develop creative approaches, models and systems that will create value-adding solutions to clients
  • Be a highly driven, autonomous, resilient and team player with a strong work ethic
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, innovative and multi-cultural team / business environment
  • Strong ability to analyse information quickly using innovative solutions to solve complex problems
  • Experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance systems will be an asset

  • Have relevant sector experience in financial, healthcare, government and/or retain sector would be an advantage
  • Highly driven, autonomous, resilient and team player with a strong work ethic.
