Senior Initiative Lead – Content & Document Management with experience in the enablement and rollout of at least one known vendor product in the ECM domain

Our Client in the Energy/Utilities Industry is currently seeking a Senior Initiative Lead – Content & Document Management with experience in the enablement and rollout of at least one known vendor product in the ECM domain.

Responsibilities:

• Consult with various stakeholders to understand business and technology challenges in the document and content management domain.
• Collaborate with vendors and subject matter experts to define a strategy and design technical solutions.
• Lead the analysis of current and emerging technologies in ECM, influence technology decisions, influence Information Governance practices and mentor team members.
• Evaluate vendor proposals for solutions and systems development.
• Provide technical leadership and help manage the delivery of projects under the initiative areas of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Document Management and Information Governance.
• Collaborate with various teams to define and prioritize requirements, and create technical deliverables.
• Execute project management responsibilities for the initiative, including establishing a plan, managing project budget, identifying and mitigating risks, and reporting on progress.
• Champion the evolution of document and content management practices in the organization.
• Recommend upgrades/improvements to infrastructure, networking and applications based on operational needs, information management standards and best practices.
• Responsible for the design and implementation of the ECM solution, including: business and records classification schemes, metadata design, and retention.
• Provide training to staff on the use of document management systems, document management practices, and retention policies.
• Develop and execute an ECM plan, including the migration from legacy systems.
• Monitor progress and status of tasks and deliverables on projects, escalating issues and risks.
• Lead briefings to review progress and obtain buy-in to required decisions on prioritization, solution design, governance, implementation plans, and ongoing support.
• Contribute to the maturity of Corporate IT’s ECM methodology to ensure rollouts are timely, streamlined, and operationally ready.
• Establish an effective feedback mechanism from stakeholders and end users to Corporate IT for continuous improvement.

Must Haves:

• Experienced in the enablement and rollout of at least one known vendor product in the ECM domain.
• Demonstrable experience leading vendor product implementations, including those from Microsoft SharePoint, OpenText, IBM, Adobe and open source providers.
• Preferred experience developing and implementing solutions, which includes one or more of the following products: SharePoint, DocuWare, FileNet, SAP DMS & Ariba, PandaDoc, OpenText, WordPress, Contentful, Joomla, Adobe.
• Experience leading enterprise size projects in document management, records management, information governance, content migration, and data integration.
• Preferred experience in Information Management within the energy sector, with a focus on developing and implementing effective information and content management practices relating to governance.
• Familiarity with laws, regulatory requirements and standards, including: PIPEDA, WCAG, GDPR, AODA, PCI DSS, NERC, FERC.
• Solid business stakeholder management and project management skills are essential.
