Senior Systems Engineer – Mobile


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted November 3, 2020.

We are seeking world-class talent looking to build a career with our large and growing team We highly prefer candidates coming from a Supply Chain background The position of senior system engineer
– mobile will be responsible for assisting/ leading in proof of concept and full chain hardware deployment projects for stores, distribution centres and Store Support Centre/Corporate offices.

As a senior system engineer
– Mobile, you will work closely with Technical Leads, Architects, other Software Engineers, Business Analysts, and Quality Engineers amongst others in a highly collaborative environment.

You’ll be expected to work directly with the business to drive requirements gathering, design, set-up activities, configuration, testing, deployment and user support for Proof of Concept projects.

The ideal candidate must be able to thrive in an environment where change is constant.

Our Lean development approach will necessitate close communication with others, requiring solid communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential Functions:
•Design, implement, and test large scale projects and enhancements
•Deliver project assignments on time and with high quality.

•Collaborate with Architects and other Hardware Engineering resources in designing and implementing enterprise solutions.

•Work with distributed teams across various time zones.

•Act as subject matter expert (SME) in assigned business and technical domains with an excellent understanding of business and system processes, inter relationship/dependencies/interactions among system components and how things work end to end.

Act as the “go-to” person on hardware device related questions.

•Interface with Business Stakeholders, IT infrastructure teams and Development teams to ensure that business requirements are properly implemented within devices and security standards
•Coordinate training and rollout plans for new projects and enhancements
•Provide expert technical direction to developers on developing integrations / software to run hardware devices
•Provide support (such as regression testing, post go-live support) on project initiatives
•Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
