Sharepoint Developer (CONTRACT possible to PERM)


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted November 3, 2020.

Our client, a leader in the Healthcare industry, is looking for a Sharepoint developer to join their team for an initial 6 month contract with the possibility of having this become permanent afterwards.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Manager of Business & Clinical Informatics, the SharePoint Software Developer applies current graphics design and .NET technologies to develop, modify, maintain SharePoint server portals.

Design, develop, and manage site content and capabilities and provide daily onsite maintenance of the existing MOSS portals.

Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.

Familiar with digital standard concepts, practices, and procedures.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Work with project stakeholders on a daily basis.

A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

•Graphical user interface design.

•Development on Apps and bespoke project specifications using the Microsoft SharePoint Development toolkit
•Adherence to development policies, processes and internal systems update
•Ongoing knowledge gathering, appliance and communication
•Undertaking handovers to QC and Project Teams and to Clients where necessary
•Provision of technical documentation for consumption by QC, Project Management, Support, Marketing and Clients
•Managing and meeting project milestones
•Develops software solutions by studying requirements analysis and information needs; conferring with stakeholders and IT Management; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; performs software design using software development fundamentals and processes, debug, test, and deploy software solutions.

•Design, develop and maintain key components of the software suite using classic ASP, Microsoft .Net and SharePoint
•Server 2007 and new 2013.

•Implementation of SharePoint-based workflows as well as development of Business Intelligence dashboards.

•Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

•Build proof of concept examples or graphical simulation.

Then maintain product test software and demos for training purposes.

•Protects operations by keeping information confidential.

•Actively participate in product design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment.

•A wide degree of creativity and latitude required.

•Delivery of project milestones / tasks to agreed deadlines and quality standards
•Being self-sufficient in delivering work and overcoming technical problems and barriers encountered through research
•Providing regular updates on project progress
•Managing their workload in conjunction with overall project milestones
•Developing and testing solutions to specification
•Providing all documentation (technical and testing) pertaining to their work
•Delivering handover meetings
•Working with the team to overcome knowledge gaps and help the team progress
•Processing of systems and adherence to SOP’s
•Ensure QA testing is conducted, communicated, documented and undertaken.

Required Skills (or demonstration of similar skills that can be transferred):
•Minimum 3
– 5 years of SharePoint design, development, and administration experience
•Experience of using Bootstrap (or responsive design equivalent)
•Office 365 / SharePoint Online Development Experience (ideal)
•Experience of working with the SharePoint App model (provider hosted and/or SharePoint hosted)
•SQL knowledge
•Nintex workflow and infopath Forms exp.

(must have)
•Competent project management skills
•Experience of SharePoint Server Side and Client Side Object Model
•Experience in SharePoint Designer Workflows
•Experience in ASP.NET/MVC/C# .NET/HTLM/CSS/JavaScript/ jQuery/REST/OData/MVC /CDN (ideal)
•Experience in using Visual Studio and using Microsoft Team Foundation Services (preferred)
•Experience of working with the AGILE methodology
•Excellent presentation and communication skills (to both technical and non-technical audiences, written and verbal)
•Proven track record to work to strict commercial deadlines
•Self-management and strong organization skills
•Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills Knowledge & Experience: The role requires someone with experience of developing within both SharePoint on-premises and SharePoint online environments.

The skill-set we are seeking is:
•Minimum 3
– 5 years of SharePoint design, development, and administration experience
•Complex database concepts and modeling
•Functional system/process design techniques
•Writing functional specifications
•Various programming languages associated with the SharePoint framework
•Detailed understanding of SharePoint concepts, methodologies and development tool-set
•Browser/client specific compatibility issues
•Aptitude to learn and share knowledge with colleagues
•Experience of using Microsoft SharePoint solutions in on-premises and SharePoint Online environments
•A level of Business Knowledge
– an understanding of business process mapping
•Experience of Microsoft Office Suite to a Demonstrable Advanced Level
– Specifically in Word, Excel, InfoPath and Outlook
•Experience in a healthcare setting is desired
•Involvement in the development of Microsoft-based business intelligence solutions is a desired.

Qualifications: Training & Education
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems; or related discipline.

•Microsoft developer certification is preferred.

•Training in project management, business analysis, process improvement and agile methodologies is desired.

•Experience programming in .NET 3.5, C#, ASP.NET ,T-SQL, C/C++, XLM.

Experience with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts, and workflow creation.

•Must have a strong programming background authoring well written, well documented, modular and clean code.

•Must be well organized, a good communicator, able to effectively prioritize tasks, and manage your projects from concept to production.

•Must be able to write thorough and concise functional and design specifications as well as easily readable end user documentation.

•Must be well able to brainstorm with others, thrive in a collaborative team environment, multi task, and quickly adapt to change.

•Possess leadership skills and ability to be led in a manner that is healthy to our positive and productive work environment.

•Emphasizes personal and professional growth by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications;
•Maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

•Experience as a SharePoint Developer in the analysis, design, hands-on development and delivery of web-based applications.

•Experience using jQuery, Client Object Model, and Service Oriented Architecture.

•Experience with SharePoint’s application services framework including implementation, configuration, and usages of
•Search, Managed Metadata, and User Profile Services.

•Microsoft MCPD 70-576, SharePoint 2010/2013 Designing and Developing Applications certification is a plus but not required.

•Ability to write Stored Procedures, write complex SQL queries, and ability to analyze the SQLdata is desired.

•Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and/or SQL Server Integration Services a plus.

•Attention to detail and commitment to high quality/error free deliverables.

•Must be motivated, independent and self-sufficient.

Able to receive an assigned task and see it through to completion with minimal supervision.

•Must rely on project management experience and judgment to accomplish goals in a variety of tasks.

•Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and able to read and write in English.
