Solution Architect

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted March 30, 2021.

Position Description:

The Solution Architect will play a critical client-facing role that interprets and translates client requirements into a solution that can be configured from a standard set of offerings. The SA operates as a single point of technical contact or as part of a team (on large deals with multiple Technical Leads and Projects) accountable to Sales to quality delivery of the solution

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Extensive knowledge and experience working with operating systems and Infrastructure
• Design and Architect end to end solutions content that characterizes what products or services are being proposed and how these services will be delivered
• Guiding and assisting the technical leads /development team throughout the SDLC process and focus on overall quality operational product
• Collaborating as a key member of the sales team to represent the solution offering to the client buyer
• Aligning solution architecture (including statement of work, schedules and other contractual documents) with final terms and conditions
• Ensuring that you and the team adhere to development schedules and deadlines
• Familiar with IT market dynamics in particular, services and technologies that are hot in the market and at what price points customers are buying them
• Analyze current technologies used within the company and determine ways to improve
• Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and requirements for software
• Oversee and support the coaching and training of team members to ensure all necessary employees are confident in the use of software applications
• Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions
• Use a proactive approach to common challenges and by continually researching best practices in coding
• Ensure software security by developing programs to actively monitor the sharing of private information
• Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive workplace
• Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates
• Understand and clearly define the input required to create cost estimates; Preparing the cost model estimates working with Project teams
• Good commercial sense with a fair understanding of cost, price, margin including contractual obligations and risks
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for Executives presentations
• Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and scope
• Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives
• Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions
• Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 7-10 years of experience designing and implementing software applications
• At least 7-10 years of relevant IT or Operations experience on the following areas,
-Software Development
-Application Support
-Infrastructure Support
• Program /Project management/governance expertise is an asset
• Professional programs certification in Java and Oracle is strongly recommended
• Experience working on large-scale software projects
• Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity and open source technologies
• Experience developing software utilizing various coding languages including Java, C++, SQL and more
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skill are essential
• Experience overseeing customized development of processes for multiple projects simultaneously
• Professional experience analyzing code for weaknesses and errors, and overseeing plans to improve them
• Experience designing secure software systems based upon industry-specific specification
• Experience in software engineering and design architecture
• Positive outlook in meeting challenges and working to a high level
• Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
• Professional experience working with and analyzing computer hardware and software
