Sr. Buyer (procurement)


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted October 31, 2020.

Our client, a leader in the education industry, is looking for a Sr.

Buyer to join their Procurement team on a permanent hire basis.

Their procurement team currently consists of 3 Procurement specialists who have specialized in one of the following areas:
– I/T procurement
– construction projects and facilities
– services and consulting The Sr.

Buyer will join 2 other buyers who support the 3 procurement specialists.

This role will be more of a generalist and may be called upon to help with any of the 3 categories where needed.

Duties include:
– Running bids and tenders
– posting publicly
– working with committees
– contract management
– contract negotiations
– vendor performance management This person will also handle lower value acquisitions.

– 3
– 5 yrs experience as a buyer in a procurement/purchasing role within the broader Public sector
– Candidates should have the following certifications or be working towards them
– buyer designation
– supply chain management designation
– Ideal person will have a broad range of purchasing experience within the broader public sector
