The Data Security Team is responsible for ensuring that enterprise data is secured. This team focuses on delivering services in the areas related to data encryption, certificate and key management, and security infrastructure support.

The Team Lead of Data Security will focus the team on securing enterprise data by ensuring that strong practices and procedures are in place, and that the right tools are utilized in the correct capacity for the job. The Team Lead will work with the Cybersecurity Infrastructure Manager and the Security Architecture team to design the roadmap for Data Security. This role will involve an on-call component.

What you can expect from the role

The Team Lead of Data Security will be responsible for leading a team of Information Security Specialists to provide services and enhance capabilities related to the areas of data encryption, certificate and key management, and security infrastructure support.

The Team Lead is expected to play a significant role in progressing the key management practices at Canadian Tire. Within this directive, the Team Lead is expected to bring their valuable prior experience contributing to, or establishing, such programs to further enhance this security domain.

The Team Lead can also expect to:

  • Drive the establishment and maturation of security practices related to Data Security and Key Management.
  • Work with the Manager of Cyber Security Infrastructure to drive the vision and strategy of the team forward.
  • Drive enterprise adoption of security services related to Data Security and Key Management.
  • Provide technical leadership during engagements with business, IT, or Cyber Security teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers and other stakeholders.
  • Influence the evolution of security technologies, operational activities, and culture of the team.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
  • Provide technical hands-on expertise with existing security tools.

This role will report into the Cybersecurity Infrastructure Manager.

  • Strong understanding of the policies, processes and procedures, and technologies involved in Data Security and Key Management.
  • Experience in establishing or enhancing cyber security programs.
  • Experience in leading and expanding one or multiple teams that takes on a wide range of technologies with an expanding portfolio.
  • Experience with providing IT security to organizations with a services-focused lens.
  • Hands-on system administration experience with a focus on data security tools, certificate and key management tools, networking, and operating system platforms.
  • Experience with regulatory standards such as PCI-DSS.
  • Experienced with leading teams where management, team members, and customers are geographically distributed.
  • Experience with cultivating people, knowledge, innovation, and culture.
  • Experience with implementing Key Management in Cloud environments be an asset.
  • Experience in development, API, and automation would be an asset.
