Market Analyst – 12 Month Contract

Overview

KPMG has an opening for a Market Analyst, 12 Month Contract, to be part of KPMG in Canada’s Market Insights team.  Market Insights is focused on providing proactive and actionable client and market insights to identify a new understanding into the market, our competitors, our clients and their industries. 

The Market Analyst is a key role within the team in researching, monitoring and analyzing the Canadian market and competitors to provide meaningful insights that enable leaders to drive growth and make intelligent data driven business decisions. 

What you will do

  • Researching and analyzing data (structured and unstructured) on a variety of topics, industries, economic and competitors
  • Research and monitors reports, trends, indicators, competitors to identify and compile information and data
  • Ability to analyze and translate data and information to tell compelling, insightful and data-driven stories to better understand our markets and competitors
  • Provide support to the competitive intelligence program in the areas of competitive benchmarking, market analysis, business and account planning, thought leadership and events positioning, and other strategic projects
  • Capturing, maintaining and integrating data sources including from websites, databases, etc and proactively identifying new data sources
  • Gathering and synthesizing research on a number of topics utilizing internal and external sources, including identification of trends and opportunities for KPMG
  • Proactively monitor market, client, competitor, economic, etc developments
  • Support and deliver meaningful reporting and analytics, including insights and trend analysis
  • Collaboration with other internal Data & Analytics teams
  • Foster innovation through the exploration of new tools and techniques to continually evolve the Market Insights roadmap
  • Knowledge and collaboration management through Microsoft TEAMS site
  • Provides intelligence, analysis and support on projects and requests
  • Build strong understanding of client and market trends and data sources and impact to KPMG

What you bring to the role

  • 2-3 years relevant work experience in research, market analysis, business analysis, consulting, marketing or business development
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Analysis, Social Sciences or Research
  • Experience in or knowledge of the Professional Services industry would be an asset
  • Intellectual curiosity, analytical acumen, strong problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinking, writing, presentation, attention to detail and project management skills, including time-sensitive projects
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to look at data and information and summarize into intelligence that can be acted upon by the business
  • Ability to think out of the box, provide new insights and intelligence, connect the dots of information
  • Develop strong understanding of our business, markets and competitors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, and be a self starter
  • Well-developed business acumen and analytical capabilities with the ability to consolidate inputs into clear, concise analysis and recommendations
  • A desire to learn, share and collaborate, and a positive attitude to ‘get it done’ and takes initiative
