Individual Insurance is a business unit within Manulife dedicated to marketing life, health, and living benefit insurance products through direct response methods as well as traditional agent sales. Our clients or sponsors are professional, alumni and retiree associations, financial institutions, retailers, and other groups or organizations that have a strong affinity with their members or customers.

As the Product Director, you will have the primary responsibility for overseeing the effective maintenance, development, and growth of the Health & Dental product portfolio. You will be a meaningful part of the management team in the Product area and will be encouraged to contribute to the development of strategies and plans.

You will require a high degree of leadership to lead a team of professionals who develop and handle products, support development and execution of distribution and marketing campaigns, and lead business and systems related projects.

This role can be located in Toronto or Waterloo, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee product management and development of Health & Dental products.

  • Develop, execute and monitor an innovative product strategy, budget, and launch plan that will increase penetration within various channels.

  • Monitor the marketplace and collaborate closely with various partners to see opportunities and analyze trends in sales.

  • Lead various systems and non-system related projects to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education, an MBA would be an asset

  • 10+ years of progressive financial services experience with proven excellence in product management

  • Top-tier manager with excellent leadership skills; ability to empower and lead various levels of staff

  • Problem solver with ability to provide strategic direction across multiple products

  • Experience developing & meeting financial metrics

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of pricing principles, risk and profit implications

  • Outstanding negotiating, communication and presentation abilities

  • Bilingualism (English and French, Mandarin or Cantonese) an asset
