Our expectations Under the direction of the Deployment Manager, the IT Technician
– Distribution center will be primarily focused on providing support and technical expertise at the distribution centre.

The Systems Technician will also support and maintain network infrastructure servers and all information technology equipment.

The incumbent in this position monitors system performance and integrity, installs system hardware and software, performs preventive maintenance, system backups and equipment repair.

This position will function in a continuously-operating production environment.

Your role Perform system operations and support for the IT infrastructure.

Log all incidents in the Lowe’s Incident Management system.

Perform intermediate troubleshooting and provide timely resolutions to issues.

Perform maintenance of all facility computer systems.

Perform preventive maintenance and break-fix repairs on PCs, thin-clients, hand held devices and may assist on more complex devices.

Perform system backups, restores and ensures the integrity of the backup media and peripherals.

Install computer hardware, peripheral equipment, and software and upgrades as appropriate.

Serve as on-site technical resource to assist corporate IT staff in troubleshooting and optimization efforts.

Maintain integrity of asset management database.

May direct and validate repair activities of authorized external vendors.

Communicate with other DC IT field staff and end-users regarding system status and performance.

Job Requirements The qualifications we are looking for 2-4 years of computer operations or related Information Technology experience.

Demonstrable experience diagnosing and troubleshooting IT system problems in a complex, heterogeneous systems environment.

Demonstrable knowledge of MS Office software suite (word, excel, access, outlook).

Experience in networking (LAN and WAN) and operations within Intel and UNIX environment (hardware and software).

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Good time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work day, night and weekend shifts, including holidays, and be able to participate in a rotating on-call schedule based on business needs.
