Facilitator-COVID-19 Emergency Operations

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted November 1, 2020.

The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not for profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in Canada and throughout the world, is currently seeking a Facilitator to join our Learning & Development team and support with the delivery of blended learning courses to CRC employees and volunteers.

We have both part-time (hourly pay) and/or volunteer opportunities.

The Facilitator is a key team member who ensures a successful delivery of learning solutions for the Canadian Red Cross employees and volunteers.

You are organized and detailed so that participants get the information they need when they need it.

You have a dynamic, engaging classroom and online presence and the ability to read your audience and respond to their needs, in the moment.

You love working with people and are comfortable building relationships with colleagues to ensure the delivery of learning solutions is of the highest quality.

You are flexible, adaptable, and willing to travel for a minimum of two weeks throughout Canada.

In this role you will: Using the adult learning principles and theory, you will facilitate different blended learning courses (including online, virtual class, webinars and on-site classroom) such as emergency management, working in long-term care homes, supervisor/manager training.

You will be responsible for your class, to provide a dynamic, engaging and positive learner experience.

Facilitate learning experiences in a highly professional manner according to L&D facilitation standards and guidelines.

Provide regular reports and feedback, as per set schedule, on participant attendance, training materials and overall training session delivery.

As well, report any incidents of concern as soon as possible.

Ensure that evaluation tools such as pre and post test data, course evaluation, and others are completed and promptly forwarded to appropriate staff; Ensure safe environments for course participants; Promote Red Cross Fundamental Principles and values at all times.

We’re looking for: Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and instructional/educational techniques are required.

A minimum 3 years of related experience facilitating corporate training across multiple fields of knowledge.

Candidates with previous CRC Emergency management, First Aid/CPR, Heart and Stroke instruction experience or Trainers/Educators with health program background will be given priority from the pool of applicants.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English or French.

Knowledge of both languages is preferred.

Qualified current or past employees, or volunteers of the Canadian Red Cross are very welcome.

Education & Qualifications: Post-secondary education in Education, Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology or Social Work, Protection, Safety, First Response, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong background in Health Care or Emergency Management is preferred.

Certificate in Adult Education is preferred.

Working Conditions: The work is performed in a virtual and/or on-site classroom setting Ability to work some non-traditional and longer hours in a fast-paced environment often on short notice Must be able to travel locally within the province.

Selected candidates will be required to go through a certification process in order to become a Canadian Red Cross Facilitator.

This role will also have access to other training resources and tools which will be supported by Learning and Development.
