Tactical Campus Response Unit Guard, Ryerson University

Our client, Ryerson University , is looking for dedicated Tactical Campus Response Unit Guards to join their team.

Your primary role is to ensure the safety and security of Ryerson’s tenants, visitors and assets in a professional and courteous manner.

You will enjoy regular and diverse interactions with the public, while also being expected to maintain the highest degree of professionalism and customer service.

What you’ll be doing Proactively patrol the Ryeson University campus including streets situated in the downtown core surrounding the campus Provide access control at the campus and identify and report security occurrences, violations, hazards, suspicious activities, and maintenance-related issues Assist in the event of an emergency, first aid or any other intervention Accurately document incidents as they occur in both a notebook and through a report writing system Property inspections and enforcement of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act of Ontario, and Ryerson University policies and procedures Interact with visitors, customers, and the general public on a regular basis Patrol by foot or by bicycle for 12 consecutive hours Evacuate the building/area in case of emergency Collect information on complaints or events Maintain a positive, productive work environment through teamwork What we offer Competitive wages/pay rate $19.86/hr Various hours Diverse benefits plan Opportunity for advancement in the security industry and excellect expereince towards Police Services Full uniform What we’re looking for Minimum 1-3 years experience in the security industry Valid Provincial Security Guard licence, First Aid and CPR Level C and basic Use of Force training Demonstarted comprehension of the Canadian Criminal Code and Tresspass to Propert Act powers of arrest Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills and ability to problem solve Avaliable to work full-time continental shifts Must have strong customer service skills, mature attitude and professionalism Security clearance reliability Leadership and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment TOR20
