Department Overview

You will find a group of colleagues coming together to service our customers in their time of need, with a mandate to provide technical expertise, leadership and best practices, to deliver high value services, with a consistent approach to Auto Appraisals across TD Insurance Claims and Vendor Management.

Job Description

The Appraisal Team Manager Ontario region will be responsible to lead a team of Field appraisers located in Ontario as part of the Appraisal Centre of Excellence.
We are looking for a self-starter with experience in leading teams through a fast paced and changing environment.

  • Lead team to ensure they meet Productivity goals and objectives, understanding and reconciling competing priorities and evolving business requirements.
  • Evaluate performance and ensure the prompt and thorough resolution or escalation of performance issues, understanding/managing risks associated with leading a customer facing team.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal TD partners and vendor(s) to ensure business priorities requirements are clearly understood and met, and objectives are aligned.
  • Takes a proactive role in customer complaint process including facilitating resolution through internal partners and / or the vendor.

Business Operations

  • Facilitate the mitigation of risk by implementing key controls and lead/participate in the resolution of Risk & compliance.
  • Develop understanding of technical/business aspects of appraisal services, in order to identify synergies, seek continuous improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to drive savings, pursue efficiencies, and increase capacity.
  • Deliver performance results by ensuring appropriate business decisions are made and prioritizing key areas of focus for the team.


  • Manage expenses within the TDI expense policy.
  • Foster team engagement and develop agile workforce to optimize oversight of entire TD Insurance auto spend.
  • Support the delivery of departmental benefits by leading the team to execute on strategic projects and initiatives.
