Sales Director, Legal Software Solutions

Role Summary:

To join our multi-year award winning best workplace as a key member of our Senior Sales Leadership Team in leading, planning, executing and inspiring sales managers/sales teams to meet and exceed company set objectives as well as to deliver on assigned key initiative/projects through cross functional leadership and collaboration. 

About the Role:

In this role as Sales Director, Legal Software Solutions, you will be:

  • achieving revenue, new sales and business development objectives through the provision of value and solutions to existing and potential customers and the development of industry related relationships;
  • leading the efforts to engage the Canadian market with a Software solutions-oriented approach that integrates our Legal and Tax research products in the value proposition;
  • understanding and developing comprehensive segment-based Go-To-Market plans within and across intersecting market segments in collaboration with our Strategic Market/Commercial Groups and Corporate Marketing;
  • identifying, developing and driving critical new sales, revenue retention and growth strategies in partnership with the VP, Sales, the Sales Directorship and the Sales Management and Sales Teams;
  • leading and motivating varied professional sales management and sales teams, creating a customer centric enterprise focus and inspiring maximum contribution, productivity and success;
  • formal and informal coaching and communicating with Sales Management and Sales Team members to optimize performance;
  • learning, understanding and maintaining the standard operating principles in the adoption and use of critical sales effectiveness theory, planning, process and correlative CRM system ( to deliver optimal sales execution, forecasting, and results;
  • developing effective strategies to leverage business opportunities in the high value, top tier market segments;
  • collaborating with Finance on expense allocation/management and to optimize and aligning sales territories and organization structure to capture opportunity and achieve maximum growth and efficiency;
  • targeting new strategic alliance opportunities and grow alliances already in place;
  • identifying and implementing technology that will optimize and facilitate the sales process across teams; and
  • developing B2B relationships with key associations, accounts and priority customers, representing the company in a manner that builds market value, equity and enhances a positive perception of business engagement possibilities.

Major Knowledge and Skills 

  • requires a proven Software Sales leadership track record of delivery value oriented consultative sales techniques;
  • demonstrates high level of knowledge, professional qualities and disposition that commands attention and respect from C-Level executives at global large law firms; adapts smoothly to changing requirements and politicized issues;
  • relishes on-going, self-initiated learning; assimilates new information quickly; welcomes feedback and applies knowledge to practical use on the job; and
  • leads the strategic sales team to attain sales targets and quotas at the cadence expected for the Legal and Tax Online Products in addition to HighQ/Contract express.

About You:

You are a fit for the role of Sales Director, Legal Software Solutions, If you have:

  • a university degree with specialization in Business, Marketing or e-Commerce;
  • 5-7 years of senior software sales management experience in a professional, B2B sales environment;
  • experience leading both outside and inside sales operations;
  • experience in business development and in developing strategic relationships;
  • exceptional people management and coaching skills;
  • strong analytical skills and numbers orientation;
  • the ability to work cross-functionally, build relationships and influence/persuade others;
  • superior communication and presenter skills;
  • exceptional interpersonal skills; and
  • strong technical/PC Skills including MS Office especially MS Excel & PowerPoint.

Bilingualism (French/English), previous experience with Sales Effectiveness Methodologies and and previous experience in a marketing capacity will be considered a strong asset.
