Job Description

General Insurance Actuarial Assistant, Pricing & Profitability
The GI Pricing & Profitability Team are looking for an intern to take part in one or more of the following activities:

• Conduct overall rate level adequacy and the risk classification reviews to achieve TD Insurance’s mission of being the most trusted insurance company
• Utilize predictive analytics to understand changing customer needs and identify growth opportunities
• Engage in pricing strategies to attract and retain customers
• Participate in the pricing development cycle and the production of regulatory rate change submissions
• Contribute to the pricing team’s innovative culture with the opportunity to apply advanced statistical techniques
• Oversee pricing process improvements, governance and partake in the implementation of rate strategies
• Collaborate with other business functions such as Corporate Actuarial, Product, Underwriting, Analytics, Underwriting, Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc. to produce a more engaged workforce

Requirements

• Over 1 year of related experience

• Proficient with MS Office Suite and internet applications

• Strong communications skills with positive personality and willingness to accept challenges

• A strong analytical mind with attention to detail and desire to learn and grow

Assigned Line of Business Requirements

• Currently enrolled in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or related university program

• Strong academic records and positive work term feedback

• Detail orientated, Analytical and Critical Thinker

• Quantitative proficiency and comfortable with large datasets

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Formulas), and Microsoft Office Suite

• Actively pursuing actuarial exams

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• High degree of personal initiative

Not required but would be an asset

• Previous Actuarial work experience

• Knowledge and experience with SAS, SQL, VBA, R, Emblem, Radar, and additional programs & languages
• University courses in Property & Casualty, Pricing/Ratemaking, Reserving, Life & Health, etc.
