Job Description

We are hiring a Senior Analyst/Associate in the Data Governance and Quality team. In this role, you will combine your passion for data management and your expertise in IT development to build out our data governance platform (Collibra). Your focus will be product management and continuous improvement of the technical capabilities of the platform to ensure that business and technical metadata is appropriately managed, that data lineage is adequately represented, and that data quality metrics are captured. You will support solution administration and help automate governance processes through workflows. You will also be called on to find solutions to complicated data and metadata issues and help increase the trust in the data.

The Opportunity:

  • Act as the technical lead for the Data Governance tool
  • Support internal business clients (Investment Departments and Core Services) in the adoption of Data Governance Principles and use of the Data Governance capabilities
  • Implement solution enhancements to address immediate business needs, while ensuring system alignment with data strategy and roadmaps
  • Facilitate the ingestion of metadata and data lineage using APIs and native Collibra connectivity tools
  • Develop processes to extract metadata from various metadata repositories; support native Collibra APIs for usage across the fund; work with data engineering teams to manage connectivity to data sources
  • Develop workflows to facilitate the management of metadata
  • Conduct data and business analysis in support of Data Governance projects, including identifying and documenting business requirements & rules, data needs and data specifications


Consider applying if you have most of the following:

  • 3+ years of experience in metadata management, data governance, quality or data modelling, preferably in the financial services industry, and working with financial products such as: Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, or private investments
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Financial Engineering, or any other quantitative field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the data lifecycle, including exposure to data modeling, lineage and quality
  • Experience creating metadata and data catalogues
  • Solid programming experience in several of the following technologies: SQL, Python, Hadoop / Hive, Spark, Excel/VB, Unix scripts. Experience with AWS services is strongly preferred.
  • Product management/administration experience with software in the area of data management, lineage, governance, quality, workflow solutions. Experience working with Collibra strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
  • Experience with market data vendors including Bloomberg, IDC, S&P, Refinitiv an asset
