Job Description

An integral member of the team responsible for valuing the $46B CPP Investments global real estate portfolio, which includes a cross-section of institutional caliber office, retail, industrial, and housing assets. The position is responsible for supporting quarterly property and portfolio level valuations, analysis and reporting, primarily in the Americas, and for contributing to the ongoing evolution of valuation processes.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:

  • Own and/or contribute to the quarterly valuations for assigned portfolio(s) of properties
  • Prepare valuations at the property level and analyze at a consolidated portfolio level
  • Research and integrate relevant market activity, surveys, commentary for assigned portfolio(s)
  • Build and maintain models using Argus Enterprise valuation software and Excel
  • Manage external appraisals in collaboration with appraisers and internal stakeholders
  • Report and defend valuation results to senior valuation leadership and investment teams
  • Maintain and support the enhancement of portfolio data bases, reporting and analytics
  • Forge relationships across CPP Investments and work collaboratively with internal and external partners
  • Other duties and/or projects as required

Qualifications

  • Relevant undergraduate or advanced degree – business, real estate, urban studies, planning
  • AACI accreditation, or international equivalent, awarded or in progress
  • 3+ years of commercial real estate experience in valuations, investments, or asset management
  • Advanced user of Excel, competent in maintaining and analysing large sets of data
  • Experienced user of Tableau, MS Office Power Point, Word and Outlook; VBA an asset
  • Capable Argus Enterprise user; experience modelling complex recoveries favoured
  • Multiple institutional asset class and geographic valuation exposure highly beneficial
